Nitrogen Cycle

• Death & decay of organisms produce NH₄ ⁺ which turn in to NO₂ ions by Nitrosomonas bacteria. NO₂ ions are converted in to NO₃ ions by Nitrobactor. This process is called nitrification.
• Converting atmospheric N₂ into nitrogen compounds is known as Nitrogen fixation.

Harmful activities done by man to affect the Nitrogen Cycle.

Using nitrogeneous manure, releasing chemicals into the environment which are harmful to microbes. releasing non biodegradable nitrogenous chemicals to the environment.
